Environics Analytics’ GreenScapes database may no longer be available, but finding Canadian households likely to use green energy with the PRIZM C2 Cluster system may still be possible. Just select the higher income cluster segments from the PRIZM C2 Segmentation Marketer’s Handbook 2011 and market green energy (and green products, for that matter) to them.
Statistics Canada Households and the Environment Survey (HES)
High-income Canadian households are over 1.5 times more likely to conserve home energy use with a programmable thermostat. Energy-saving use, by household and dwelling characteristics, 2007 — Household income summarizes Canadian household energy conservation habits. Energy conscious, high-income households are defined as having an annual income of $150,000 or more by the Statistics Canada Households and the Environment Survey (HES) survey. Most recent Statistics Canada Census of Canada data indicates there are 1,805,540 Canadian couple families who have an annual income of $150,000 or more.
