Yahoo! has clear content verticals (eg. travel, sports) and an iPad Tablet App by which to present personalized images, videos and text to Tablet owners. The Internet remains an important channel from which consumers obtains news and information: good news for Yahoo!. Yahoo!’s content verticals allow it to segment the readership base in a way that Google, Facebook and online competitors can’t. The http://ca.yahoo.com/ home page reveals several excellent content verticals (health, business, movies, Shine etc.) listed as sub-sites along the left-hand side. These clear content verticals make for clean click-through data that is easy to analyze. Yahoo! visitors may easily be grouped according to their content interests. Some Yahoo! visitors may be avid sports fans and game players: identified by analyzing ‘Sports’ and ‘Games’ Yahoo.ca click-through data. Other Yahoo! readers might be interested in health, dating and shopping. Many of Yahoo!’s website visitors are also Yahoo! Mail users. Every Yahoo! Mail user might be identified according to his or her content interests. As of August 2011, there were an estimated 100 million active Yahoo! Mail users per month, and you may read more about this: Email Statistics.
